KOTA TINGGI: The police have arrested 43 youths for organising a drug party at a homestay in Taman Sri Penawar in Bandar Penawar here.

“We arrested a group of youths, between from 15 to 25 years old, including women, at the party.

“Most of the youths came from around Kota Tinggi but there were also those who came from nearby districts including Johor Baru, ” he said in a statement here on Sunday . Supt Ashmon pointed out that the youths rented the homestay for RM144 per night for them to hold the party. He added that checks also found that 31 of those arrested tested positive for drugs such as methamphetamine and ganja.

Supt Ashmon also said that further checks also found that four of the youths have prior criminal records for drugs and criminal offences.Supt Ashmon also said that the case has been classified under Section 270 of the Penal Code, Section 15 of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, and Regulation 15 of the Prevention and Control of Infectious Diseases 2020.
