McLaren has explained that a lack of aerodynamic efficiency is the key element that has triggered early struggles with its new F1 car. Team principal Andrea Stella offered some insight into what has gone wrong ⬇️
The Woking-based squad has been open since its launch that it is not entirely happy with the initial specification of the MCL60, which has lacked competitiveness in the Bahrain pre-season test.
"Last year, we had some clear objectives in terms of development, they had to do with aerodynamic efficiency, some development related to the exploitation of the tyres, and also some other objectives to improve the balance," explained Stella. "I think based on what I've seen in these two days, our performance is pretty much where I expected it to be," added Stella."No surprises.
