Rory McIlroy's dominant victory at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am has significantly boosted his chances of winning the Masters, making him the second betting favorite behind Scottie Scheffler.
Rory McIlroy delivered one of the most impressive performances of his illustrious career last week, dominating a field that included many of the world's best golfers en route to a convincing victory. McIlroy entered the Masters with +1000 odds on FanDuel Sportsbook. Following his near-flawless performance at Pebble Beach , his odds have dropped to +650. His implied probability of winning the Masters now stands at 13.33%, a significant 4% increase from before Pebble.
McIlroy is now the second betting favorite behind reigning Masters champion Scottie Scheffler, who has +420 odds to win his third green jacket. Xander Schauffele (+1300), Jon Rahm (+1300) and Ludvig Aberg (+1600) follow close behind.McIlroy continues to pursue his dream of completing the career Grand Slam by winning the Masters. He followed this up with a 66 on Sunday, featuring a crucial eagle on the tough par-5 14th that effectively sealed the tournament. He also achieved a hole-in-one in his opening round and made only one bogey over the weekend. Since the 2024 Masters, McIlroy has made 20 starts worldwide, accumulating four wins and 12 top-5 finishes. McIlroy is likely to participate in the Genesis in two weeks, as well as the Players Championship and a few other tournaments. Unless he experiences a significant decline in form over the next two months leading up to the Masters, his odds are unlikely to change drastically.
