Police Minister Senzo Mchunu tabled the R113 billion budget, saying that capacity and police visibility would be a key priority.
CAPE TOWN - The South African Police Service will recruit 10,000 new boots on the ground for the 2024/2025 financial year.
However, while Mchunu has listed his priorities, opposition parties have rejected the budget, saying the department had lost the fight against crime. "We need to enhance police visibility in the country as a priority so that we show the whole country that here are the police."
