McDonald’s has joined the fast-food value wars with a new $5 value meal that is available now. It is their latest effort to combat rising prices and lure customers back through the golden arches. NBC’s Sam Brock reports for TODAY.
Grab your nuggets because things just got a whole lot saucier at McDonald’s. Starting July 9, the chain will be offering its newest collaboration item, and this time it’s a sauce with East Asian origins. The Special Grade Garlic Sauce is inspired by McDonald’s Japan’s Black Garlic Sauce. It features garlic and soy sauce flavors that create a tangy sweetness, according to the chain, and is the “first EVER garlic sauce to hit the menus at McDonald’s USA.
Customers who purchase the sauce will receive a free 30-day trial of anime and manga website Crunchyroll, where they can watch full episodes of “Jujutsu Kaisen” and more shows shortly after they air in Japan. The new sauce available as a limited-time offer exclusively through the restaurant’s app. It can be added to any order of Chicken McNuggets for free, or ordered as a side with any other item.
