Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell said Putin has always been a 'thug' and a 'killer,' but he decided to invade after seeing America pull away from its 'forward-leaning position' in the world.
McConnell, R-Ky., touted UkrainianUkrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stands alongside other government officials in a video posted to social media Friday vowing to defend the country from a Russian invasion.
"The demonstration of incredible bravery and this stunningly impressive president is the reason the rest of the world is rallying to the cause," he said. "Vladimir Putin’s invasion has done more to unify NATO than any president of either party has been able to accomplish in all these years."
