Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell is “medically clear” to continue with his planned schedule after suffering a freeze-up on Wednesday, according to the U.S. Capitol physician. The Kentucky Republican froze for about 30 seconds during an event with reporters in his home state.

“Occasional lightheadedness is not uncommon in concussion recovery and can also be expected as a result of dehydration,” wrote Dr. Brian Monahan in a statement released by McConnell’s office. McConnell suffered a concussion in March. President Joe Biden on Thursday said he’d spoken with McConnell, telling reporters: “He was his old self on the telephone.” Biden said he isn’t concerned about the Republican leader’s ability to do his job.
