McConnell, while speaking in Kentucky on Wednesday, appeared to lose concentration as a reporter asked about his reelection plans, staring blankly into space until his aides came by his side to assist him. He resumed his Q&A shortly thereafter, but the episode was reminiscent of a freezing incident that occurred last month during Senate Republicans' weekly press conference.
"After evaluating yesterday’s incident, I have informed Leader McConnell that he is medically clear to continue with his schedule as planned," Monahan said in the letter."Occasional lightheadedness is not uncommon in concussion recovery and can also be expected as a result of dehydration."
