The latest Economist/YouGov poll said that Republicans approve of McCarthy 59%-21%. And, it added, Republicans think he’s done a good job in his first week, 42%-12%.Overall in the Economist/YouGov surveys, McCarthy jumped from 27% approval before the election to 36% today. That’s where Pelosi was right before the election.
And according to the analysis, “Republicans are more optimistic about McCarthy's potential to be an effective speaker. By almost three to one , Republicans say McCarthy will be able to serve effectively in the role. Just 19% of Democrats say the same, and 51% say he will not be effective in the job.”
