The popular food brand has noticed a selection of India retail products that have never been tested for UK standards.
McCain Food s GB has issued an immediate recall notice after reportedly discovering a distributor was selling McCain Food s India retail products imported for a small UK market trial.
This means that while the items comply with Indian market regulations, they have not been thoroughly assessed for the UK market. There is a risk of potential presence of UK-specific allergens and the potential presence of ethylene oxide, which is used to preserve product seasonings. This recall applies to all batch codes and 'best before' dates for the products. No other McCain products are affected.
McCain is urging customers who have bought any of the recalled items not to eat them. Instead, they should return the products to the store from where they were purchased for a full refund no receipt required.
