This is in addition to the Registrar of Societies announcement that all societies were banned from holding any activity until June 30.
“Thus, considering the threat of the novel coronavirus pandemic, the MCA Presidential Council has deliberated and decided to postpone the AGMs for all of MCA’s 188 Divisions and 3,862 Branches until further notice,” said MCA secretary-general Datuk Chong Sin Woon, in a statement here today.However, seeing that the cases of Covid-19 infections were still on a rise, the decision was made as a preventive measure, said Chong.
He said that MCA would continue to monitor the pandemic and decide on a suitable time for the division and branch AGMs to be held based on the existing provisions and regulations. Chong said at the same time, in accordance with the government’s directive, the MCA Headquarters would also be closed from March 18 to 31.Related stories
