For months, we've been reporting on bills that are hundreds, if not thousands of dollars above what they should be.HOUSTON — Houstonians will be getting some much-anticipated news on Thursday from Mayor John Whitmire who's expected to announce a new plan on how to deal withnow, and in a few hours, many are hopeful the problem will finally be solved. The story never seemed to end, with neighbors coming to KHOU 11 with water bills in the thousands.

"We will deal with the water bills where people have nowhere to turn but City Hall, and then they get a deaf ear,” Whitmire said. “I'm fired up. I wish I could go to work in the morning."On Jan. 29, a few weeks after taking office, the mayor’s office told KHOU 11 they had a plan in place and would announce it the next day. But that didn’t happen. Whitmire postponed the announcement and said his administration was still working on a comprehensive plan to be announced"later.
