Mayor Richard Irvin Friday said both the DAC Developments 258-unit apartment development and the Windfall Group’s Pacifica Riverview 187-unit development would be built, but have been delayed by the same financial concerns plaguing the rest of the world.

Two new apartment developments in downtown Aurora have been delayed, but are still on track to be built. That was the word from Mayor Richard Irvin Friday, who said both the DAC Developments 258-unit apartment development and the Windfall Group’s Pacifica Riverview 187-unit development would be built, but have been delayed by the same financial concerns plaguing the rest of the world. Since both developments were started, “the world took a turn,” Irvin said.

The original development plans have primarily studio and one-bedroom apartments, although some 40 units will be two- and three-bedroom apartments. The building will be five stories, with private balconies on about 45% of the units. The developers planned on a groundbreaking this summer, but they were not only delayed by increased costs, but an Illinois Environmental Protection Agency requirement for building so close to the Fox River.
