Henyard, who was not present at the board meeting, is expected to veto the plan.
Trustee Jason House, was voted to take on the role, in which he could fill in for the mayor in certain situations. The board said the mayor was ignoring essential duties as mayor and the move was needed so Dolton residents can continue to receive essential services.
House reiterated that the appointment was not a replacement for her job. Henyard, who has been dubbed the “worst mayor in America,” for some of her behavior, including spending Dolton taxpayer money on a luxurious vacation in Las Vegas. Former Chicago Mayor
