amNY Sports email newsletterThe Mayor’s office is looking to hire their very own pied piper in order to help rid the city of wild rodents running amok in the muck.
“Do you have what it takes to do the impossible? A virulent vehemence for vermin? A background in urban planning, project management, or government? And most importantly, the drive, determination and killer instinct needed to fight the real enemy – New York City’s relentless rat population?” part of the listing reads.
The posting is rife with tongue-in-cheek puns and sweeping language stating that rats “must be vanquished” and that applicants must be able to “burrow into the depths of city government to work with agencies across the board.” Still, despite its biting nature, the mayor himself ensures that the job should not be under-rat-ed, calling it a key component in the city’s recovery.
