Columbus City Hall is now offering identity theft protection to all employees, after a massive ransomware attack that compromised employees log-ins.
"I am one of nearly 10,000 Columbus employees, and I will take advantage of the protection, as we should," said Columbus City Attorney Zach Klein .
At least a dozen members of the Fraternal Order of Police have reported their bank account info has been hacked. An international ransomware organization know as Rhysida has claimed to be behind the attack that also included access to city video cameras. "The city of Cleveland experienced it, other states have experienced it," said Klein, "we really need our federal partners to start thinking long and hard on legislatively how we can combat this as a nation."
