Some Metro Manila and Cavite residents will continue to experience water service interruptions until February 17, 2023.
According to a report by Lei Alviz on "24 Oras," some parts of Las Piñas, Muntinlupa, Parañaque, Pasay and Bacoor, Cavite City, Imus, Noveleta and Rosario in Cavite are affected by the five to 21 hours water service interruption. The water firm said increased turbidity in the raw water of Laguna Lake, the main source of its supply, has constrained it to reduce the production in its treatment plants.
When there is equipment damage in the plant, the production is also affected, but Maynilad said that in the past few months, water supply interruption has been reduced by an average of seven hours. "Pag natapos itong Poblacion Water Treatment plant sa 4th quarter this year.
Maynilad has allocated P220 billion from this year to 2027 for water and wastewater infrastructure to improve their services.
