Two storm systems to come our way in the rest of the week and into the weekend. This pattern will keep most of the moisture over the Aleutians, Alaska Peninsula and coasts of southcentral.

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Skies are cloudy over Anchorage and the snow is rapidly melting in the higher elevations, while it’s just about gone in the city.Two storm systems are coming our way for the rest of the week and into the weekend.

This pattern will keep most of the moisture over the Aleutians, Alaska Peninsula, and coasts of Southcentral Alaska.River systems across the state are amidst breakup season, with ice now beginning to rot and release. The Chena River is running high in Fairbanks. The town of Glennallen in the Copper River Basin is still under a flood watch for Moose Creek snowmelt flooding. That watch has been extended through the rest of the week and weekend. High pressure holds over Southeast Alaska, ensuring a sunny Thursday. However, overnight, temperatures will be cold enough to prompt a frost advisory from Yakutat over the north Gulf Coast to Juneau. Temperatures are likely to dip below freezing, which could kill sensitive vegetation. The advisory is from 3 a.m. to 9 a.m. Thursday.The cold spot goes to Nuiqsuit, where temperatures dropped to 9 degrees below zero!
