Max Verstappen won his home race at the Dutch Grand Prix on Sunday afternoon - and equalled an impressive F1 record in the process.title in succession with the team, having claimed the 2021 and 2022 crowns.VerstappenVerstappen finished first in a chaotic Dutch Grand Prix, which was rain-affected and red flagged following a deluge and Alfa Romeo's Zhou Guanyu crashing out at the first corner. It was restarted with a handful of laps to go.
Verstappen is now 138 points clear at the top of the Drivers' Championship, and it is surely a question of when and not if he confirms his third title. But the Dutchman did not just win his home race at Zandvoort, but also equalled a hugely impressive record which he now jointly holds with two legends of the sport.Verstappen has now won nine races in a row this season and managed the same feat that only Sebastian Vettel and Alberto Ascari have managed in years gone by.
Vettel managed that back in 2013 by winning the last nine races of that season as he claimed his fourth world title, all of which he achieved with Red Bull.Verstappen can go out on his own with an unprecedented 10 race victories in a row when F1 heads to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix next weekend.
