Mavs face Jazz again on Sunday, and regular-season NBA games don’t get much bigger | townbrad
head coach Jason Kidd was asked about his concern level regarding the Mavericks’ recent defensive slippage as they “vie for homecourt advantage in the playoffs.”
Thankfully for Kidd, there is every reason for Sunday night’s clash against Utah in American Airlines Center to get the Mavericks’ undivided attention. It’s about as important as an NBA regular-season game gets. “Yes, of course,” he said. “I mean, everybody wants to get homecourt advantage. It’s easier to win games, so of course, you want it.”
Dallas’ 25-12 home record is an improvement from COVID-19-shortened last season’s 21-15 mark. And in their last 21 home games, the Mavericks are 17-4, limiting opponents to averages of 100.2 points and 29.5% 3-point shooting.
