He played two seasons for the Mavericks from 2004 until 2006. He joined Rick Carlisle’s staff midway through the 2008-09 season as a player development coach. Before entering the coaching ranks, Armstrong played in the NBA for 14 years with the Mavs, Magic, Hornets, Pacers and Nets.
