Lawyers for reality TV star Matt Wright have indicated he will plead not guilty to perverting the course of justice in the NT Supreme Court , requesting up to twelve weeks for a potential trial.
Celebrity crocodile wrangler Matt Wight is set to plead not guilty to perverting the course of justice following a fatal helicopter crash that killed his friend and co-star Chris "Willow" Wilson in 2022. The charge relates to circumstances that allegedly took place in the aftermath of the crash in West Arnhem Land, which claimed the life of Mr Wilson and seriously injured pilot Sebastian Robinson.Mr Wright's barrister, Frank Merenda, told the court on Thursday that his client intended to plead not guilty to the charge and wished for the matter to proceed to trial.
Acting Justice Vince Luppino said "special arrangements" would need to be made to accommodate a trial of that length.
