The hearing quickly grew tense amid questioning from Gaetz, a Florida Republican and staunch supporter of the former president.
Garland began to answer, 'The offices you're referring to are independent offices of state—' before being cut off by Gaetz. The Florida Republican said his question was simply 'whether you will provide all of the documents and correspondence' and that he did 'not need a history lesson.
