She added that “nearly three years of managing the pandemic means that trusts are skilled in providing flexible solutions in emergency situations, and NHS leaders were urging the Government and unions to get around the table and do “everything they can to avert these strikes”. RCN members will walk out at 65 NHS organisations for 12 hours at a time, from 8am until 8pm on strike days.The RCN has already set out a list of services that will be protected from the action, including chemotherapy, dialysis, critical care units such as intensive care and high dependency, and neonatal and paediatric intensive care.

She added that trust leaders “will continue to do everything in their power to protect mothers and their babies as well as supporting all their staff”.
