Materials have been removed from a nationalist bonfire site in Derry city by contractors employed by the Department for Communities.The PSNI said its officers were in attendance as materials were removed to "ensure the safety of everyone".

On Monday, a police spokesperson said: “Contractors employed by the Department for Communities removed material from the site in Galliagh on Monday, 7th August. Police were present to prevent a breach of the peace and ensure the safety of everyone.”
