Mater Dei High School in Chula Vista briefly locked down after hoax report of active shooter [Breaking]
Mater Dei High School went on a brief lockdown Wednesday afternoon after a caller reported an active shooter, but the call was deemed a hoax, Chula Vista police said.
Nearby Veterans Elementary was also placed on lockdown, given its proximity to the high school. It also was given then go-ahead to reopen, the department said in a tweet.We are receiving reports of similar calls in other jurisdictions and will be putting out more info about this hoax via a press release/social media shortly.
