KUALA LUMPUR: Muafakat Nasional alone does not guarantee that Umno will win in the 15th general election, says Umno deputy president Datuk Seri Mohamad Hasan.
He said the party must be strong on its own and not depend merely on external cooperation and support to win over the government.
“If Umno is strong, it can form the government. If we are strong, people will come to us, ” he said in his winding-up speech at the end of Umno general assembly on Saturday . “If we can do this we can certainly win in the next general election, ” he said, pointing out that Umno has already shown that it can topple Pakatan with victories during several by-elections.
