Icon's Phoenix robotic construction tech can erect multi-story buildings using printed foundations and roof components.
Icon now offers Phoenix projects priced from $25/sq ft for wall systems and $80/sq ft for foundation and roof components, catering to diverse needs.Earlier this month, Phoenix’s first engineering prototype finished an architectural demonstration project that stands 27 feet tall and is currently on exhibit in Austin, Texas.
The firm believes that something radical and courageous needs to happen to address the global housing crisis.
Unlike its predecessor, Phoenix features a dynamic design, boasting a large articulated arm mounted on a rotating base. This departure from traditional stationary structures enables greater mobility, facilitating easy setup and transport across various construction sites. The Icon’s construction systems are comprised of either the Phoenix or Vulcan printer, tailored to meet the specific requirements of a project, alongside the Magma portable mixing unit responsible for preparing its exclusive building material, CarbonX, for the printing process.
