The former Irish president was speaking on The Late Late Show with Paddy Kielty
Former Irish President Mary McAleese has hailed Joe Brolly for being the "most outstanding" student she ever taught.
She was appointed Reid Professor of Criminal Law, Criminology and Penology at Trinity College Dublin in 1975, and in 1987 she returned to her Alma Mater to become Director of the Institute of Professional Legal Studies.In 1994, she became the first female Pro-Vice Chancellor of the Queen’s University of Belfast.
The former RTE pundit and practising barrister is one of the most well known personalities of Ireland and McAleese had nothing but praise for her former student.
