The fundraiser for Mary Lou Retton has now hit a quarter-million dollars ... with famous Texas businessman Jim 'Mattress Mack' McIngvale's wife, Linda donating an astounding $50,000.

In fact, the cause has raised more than triple the original goal as of Wednesday morning ... and it only continues to rise.So far, more than 3,900 people have donated to Retton's expenses ... with many leaving words of support for the gymnast and her family.
