Marvin Harrison Jr. has been named one of 12 semifinalists for the Biletnikoff Award, given to the best receiver in college football.
Harrison is only the eighth player in Ohio State history to surpass more than 1,000 receiving yards in a single season. He accompanies teammate Jaxon Smith-Njigba – who was on the Biletnikoff Award watch list entering the year but has only played in three games because of a hamstring injury – and former Buckeyes David Boston, Terry Glenn, Cris Carter, Michael Jenkins, Parris Campbell and Garrett Wilson as the players to accomplish that feat.
The Philadelphia native is the fourth-fastest Ohio State receiver to reach the milestone. Glenn only needed eight games, while Smith-Njigba and Boston reached 1,000 yards in 10. Meanwhile, Harrison achieved quadruple digits in the Maryland game – his 11th appearance of the season. In addition to his impressive statistics, Harrison has also made several incredible catches this season that has caught the attention of the college football world, namely his acrobatic receptions against Michigan State and Indiana.
