Tom Holland's Spider-Man unmasked and confused in Far From Home
Miles Morales appears in Spider-Man's new release in a big year for the character, as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's version of Spidey will return in 2026 in at least one project. The MCU's slate of releases is rumored to feature the return of Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man in Avengers: Doomsday, with the confirmed return of Tom Holland to lead Spider-Man: Brand New Day's star-studded cast.
That said, if both versions of Spider-Man appeared on the big screen in 2026, it would still mean that only Peter Parker is showing up in the movies. However, on the small screen, that changes. Prime Video's Spider-Noir will feature Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, while a long-running animated Spider-Man series sees Miles Morales in action in 2026 before the Spider-Verse returns next year. Spidey and his Amazing Friends is the latest animated series starring Spider-Man to be set in its own universe. The hero has been the star of multiple such shows, like Ultimate Spider-Man, Spider-Man: The Animated Series, The Spectacular Spider-Man, and so on. While Marvel Studios' animated Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man returns in 2026 with a new season, the attention is on another release. After all, Spidey and his Amazing Friends is currently in its fourth season, with the show featuring heroes and villains from all over the Marvel universe. That said, the focus, obviously, is still on Spider-Man-related characters. To that end, those who have not yet watched the animated show should be pleased to know that Peter Parker is not the show's only main hero. Miles Morales, as Spin, not Spider-Man, and Gwen Stacy as Ghost-Spider join Peter as the show's leads. In Spidey and his Amazing Friends season 4, Miles wears a red and black superhero suit with a giant"V" shape around his torso. His pants don't have any webbing, and he ends up wearing a variation with a pirate's hat and jacket at one point in the season. At this time, there is no live-action version of Miles Morales to compare to Spidey and his Amazing Friends' design. However, when looking at the original Ultimate Spider-Man comics that starred the hero, the animated Miles comes close. The design is greatly inspired by Miles' original look, though there are notable differences, like the animated Spider-Man having fully red gloves instead of only red fingers. Additionally, Miles Morales' Spidey and his Amazing Friends design features red boots, not black, like in the comics. The animated Spidey symbol is also smaller and more compact. That said, the changes are all for the best. The Spider-Man TV show does a good job of honoring the comics, while also opening the door for a fresh interpretation of Miles' best suit. 18 7.2/10 Spidey and His Amazing Friends 10 stars 9 stars 8 stars 7 stars 6 stars 5 stars 4 stars 3 stars 2 stars 1 star Like Follow Followed TV-Y Kids Animation Comedy Action Adventure Release Date August 6, 2021 Network Disney Channel, Disney Junior Directors Chris Moreno Cast See All
