Changes to the state pension are set to come into place in April, and missing the deadline could cost you up to £7,500
A pensions deadline is approaching that could cost anyone between the ages of 45 and 70 thousands of pounds if missed, Martin Lewis has warned. The money saving expert issued the plea on the Martin Lewis Podcast, after missing his regular ITV slot due to family commitments.
Whilst state pensions sound mundane, it could affect everyone aged between 45 and 70 due to a change put in place in 2016 which comes into force in April. "You can acquire years by working. Minimum wage, and you will get National Insurance credits, or if you're not working there are other ways you can get NI credits for example if you are raising children or have a disability.
