Martin Lewis has issued an urgent call for individuals to check if they can boost their state pension by up to £79,000, but only if they fall within the correct age bracket. The financial guru made a return this week with critical advice, including a stark warning about state pensions.
Thanks to the 'triple lock' guarantee on pensions, that figure of £79,000 is set to rise each year in line with inflation and wage growth. Martin emphasised that the state pension amount depends on the number of National Insurance contribution years on your record, so buying back any missing years could significantly enhance your state pension.
"IMPORTANT: Are you under age 73? " Martin asked his audience. "For each £800 or less you pay, you could gain £5,400 or more.", reports the Express.
