Money saving expert founder said that there was a simple thing which could cut costs - but warned agains a legal pitfall
Money saving guru Martin Lewis has given what he described as a ‘weird trick’ for young people to slash the cost of their car insurance. Mr Lewis was speaking on Radio 5 Live as it emerged that costs for car insurance have soared a shocking 41 per cent in the last year.
“So some ways of cutting the risk are actually almost counter-logical. I mean, if I ask you in very simple terms ‘is it cheaper to insure one driver or two drivers on a car’ what would you with normal common sense say?” “What is very important you never do is do it as a first driver. If you say someone is the primary driver when they’re not, that’s called fronting and that’s illegal, it’s a criminal offence and can invalidate your insurance.
