His father worked out on the rigs.
:"I remember going to pick up my dad from the train station when I was a wee boy and he'd had a few. We had to actually pick him up. After they came off the rig they would go wild and then they'd dry out back on the rig."
He explained that the rigs are a big part of Scottish culture, especially in the northeast coastal towns where most of the families would know someone working there. "Rigs are a huge part of the culture on the northeast coast of Scotland, but that job is changing and being pared down," he said.
