Kayce in Marshals
Marshals is a contemporary spinoff that is centered around Kayce Dutton, but its ensemble is a mix of new and fresh faces. The new series sees Kayce leaving the Duttons in the past, trading ranch life for law enforcement.
Marshals makes television history by being the first Yellowstone story released on network TV. It follows Kayce as part of an elite unit of U.S. Marshals on the front lines of high-risk investigations. The series reframes Sheridan’s modern Western saga through a federal crime lens. Despite the shift, the show remains firmly connected to its Yellowstone roots. Several familiar Yellowstone faces return, as well as new characters joining. This includes Marshals adding an award-winning country singer to the cast. The Cast Of Marshals Luke Grimes as Kayce Dutton Date Of Birth: January 21, 1984 Actor: Luke Grimes was born in Dayton, Ohio, and steadily built his career with supporting film roles. In 2008, he got his breakout role as Ryan Lafferty in Brothers & Sisters. Then, in 2015, Grimes landed the part of Elliot Grey in Fifty Shades of Grey. He also appeared alongside Bradley Cooper in American Sniper. However, his defining role remains Kayce Dutton in Yellowstone. This established him as one of modern television’s central Western protagonists.Character: Kayce Dutton is the youngest son of John Dutton III. As a former Navy SEAL, his moral conflict drove much of his motives Yellowstone. In Marshals, Kayce transitions into federal service, joining the U.S. Marshals. The move allows a deeper exploration into Dutton’s internal struggle between justice and loyalty in a new setting. Brecken Merrill as Tate Dutton Date Of Birth: June 20, 2008 Actor: Born in the United States, Merrill rose to prominence at a young age as Tate Dutton in Yellowstone on the Paramount Network. Merrill portrayed one of the franchise’s most emotionally central child characters.Character: Tate Dutton is Kayce’s son with his wife, Monica. Throughout Yellowstone, Tate’s safety and upbringing were central motivations for Kayce’s decisions. His continued presence in Marshals helps show that despite Kayce’s professional shift, his family remains the emotional core of his decisions. Gil Birmingham as Thomas Rainwater Date Of Birth: July 13, 1953 Actor: Gil Birmingham was born in San Antonio, Texas, and built a long career across film and television. This includes guest roles in Tina Fey’s Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and voicing Forge in the animated series X-Men ’97. He is widely recognized for playing Billy Black in The Twilight Saga before stepping into the role of Thomas Rainwater in Yellowstone.Character: Thomas Rainwater is the Chairman of the Broken Rock Indian Reservation. During the original Yellowstone series he went from being a political rival of the Dutton family, to a complex ally. His character's return in Marshals helps connect Kayce's past to his new life. Mo Brings Plenty as Mo Date Of Birth: September 4, 1969 Actor: Mo Brings Plenty was born in South Dakota and is recognized for his cultural advocacy work. As well as his acting and stunt career. He portrayed Sitting Bull in the 2016 miniseries The American West, and worked on the stunt team for the Academy Award-winning movie The Revenant. However, he became best known for his recurring role as Mo in Yellowstone.Character: Mo is the loyal aide to Thomas Rainwater in Yellowstone. His continued presence in Marshals maintains continuity between Kayce’s story and the Broken Rock Reservation. Logan Marshall-Green as Pete Calvin Date Of Birth: November 1, 1976 Actor: Logan Marshall-Green was born in Charleston, South Carolina. He gained attention for roles in television series like 24, The O.C. and Dark Blue. Further into his career, he landed the lead role of Creeley Turner in Damnation and played the character of The Shocker in Spider-Man: Homecoming.Character: Pete Calvin is a new addition to the Yellowstone universe. In Marshals, Calvin is a military veteran whom Kayce befriended during his time in the Navy SEALs. Marshals Supporting Cast & Characters Ash Santos as Andrea Santos: Ash Santos has built her career through supporting roles in television shows, including American Horror Story and another Taylor Sheridan story, Mayor of Kingstown. The character of Andrea Santos is a new face in the Yellowstone franchise and official plot details remain limited. Kebbel joins the Marshals’ cast as Belle Skinner. Brett Cullen as Harry Gifford: Joining the Marshal lineup as Harry Gifford is actor Brett Cullen. Cullen has appeared in series such as Narcos and True Detective. He also had a supporting role in The Dark Knight Rises. Tatanka Means as Miles Kittle: Tatanka Means is an actor and stand-up comedian known for roles in Killers of the Flower Moon, Horizon: An American Saga, and The Son. He frequently portrays characters connected to Western and Indigenous narratives. His character in Marshals is Miles Kittle, a new figure in Kayce’s world.
