to shed light on hair discrimination from the perspective of Black women across the United States.— be it through commentary on their coily, natural curls, or straight-up being denied employment opportunities. Black hair is deemed everything from unprofessional to messy in society, and that takes a toll on the women who sport their natural curls.

To amplify the voice of women still dealing with this daily, Glamour tapped the four Black celebrities to help put this discrimination to an end. In a video just over three minutes long titledthey recite quotes from 13 Black women across the United States. The quotes, however, are so relatable that they could be a reality for any Black women, including the celebrities in the video.

“HR told me my hair looked more professional pulled back and in a bun than it did curly,” Keke proclaims. “I’ve had strangers walk up and pet me,” Marsai repeats. These are real stories from Black women who are just existing while wearing their natural hair, yet being discriminated against.. “My hair has a purpose greater than myself and I will not put it away to comply with white culture standards of beauty,” Keke said in the PSA video.
