A former top Steinhoff executive has spoken out about the"climate of fear" under its ex-CEO Markus Jooste, saying employees dared not speak out against their boss.
Siegmar Schmidt, 64, the former managing director of Steinhoff Europe Group Services from 2003 until 2011, read a statement to the Oldenburg Regional Court in Germany on Wednesday morning.
