The Medical Examiner will confirm the identity of the remains. According to CCPD Chief Mike Markle that process could take several weeks.
The remains will be sent to the University of North Texas which is the missing persons clearing house for the state.
The location of the remains has fueled speculation as to whether it could be connected to the disappearance of 21-year-oldIt has been confirmed that Caleb's father, Randy Harris, has been made aware for the findings and is waiting on DNA results. However, there is still no evidence that these remains are linked to Caleb Harris' disappearance.The Corpus Christi Fire Department worked until at least 1 a.m. Tuesday trying to recover the remains.
The discovered remains led police to the the Greenwood Wastewater Treatment Plant, where they continued their investigation. The remains will be sent to the University of North Texas, which is the missing persons clearing house for the state of Texas, according to Corpus Christi Police Department Chief Mike Markle.
Corpus Christi Water is a part of the ongoing investigation.
