A 39-year-old Markham man, Larry Dennis, was sentenced Monday to 6 1/2 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to a drug charge.
A 39-year-old Markham man was sentenced to 6 1/2 years in federal prison for dealing crack cocaine and illegally possessing a loaded handgun, according to the U.S. attorney’s office in Chicago.
Dennis was indicted by a federal grand jury in February 2021, according to court records, and pleaded guilty May 1 of this year to the drug charge.Prosecutors had asked for a 6 1/2 year sentence, saying in a court filing Dennis was “a prolific drug dealer” who operated from his home in the 16600 block of South Marshfield Avenue in Markham.
