Mark Canha got caught looking at the scoreboard and lost track of time.
In maybe the strangest of the Mets’ four pitch-clock violations Monday, Canha was called out on strikes in the ninth inning by plate umpire Alan Porter because he was unsure what pitch he had just seen and was awaiting the scoreboard readout.Mets’ 10-0 loss to the Brewers
Canha wasn’t the only Mets hitter to receive a strike for a pitch-clock violation on this day — Omar Narvaez was also penalized.Getty Images Luis Guillorme’s scoreless eighth inning in his third career pitching appearance was among the Mets’ few highlights. Guillorme threw 12 pitches, all fastballs, and topped out at 77.7 mph.
