Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) said House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) would be one of the first members of Congress to vote to move forward with an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden.
Greene said she was confident McCarthy will start the process by September, stating on American Sunrise on Real America's Voice, “The reason why I'm confident is we had a house GOP call yesterday and that was his big push on the call."“An impeachment inquiry is just asking the question,” Greene said, questioning why some House Republicans are hesitant to take the first steps.

Greene has sponsored multiple articles of impeachment against Biden since he entered the White House in January 2021. Multiple Republicans, including Greene, have introduced various articles of impeachment against him during his first two years in office. Greene sparked impeachment talks in May, moving to impeach Biden over his handling of immigrant crossings at the southern border after Title 42 expired.
In her latest calls, which she emphasized in July, Greene agitated for Biden’s impeachment over alleged involvement in his son Hunter Biden’s foreign business dealings.Republicans, who lead the House by a slim margin, are attempting to obtain bank and credit card statements from members of the Biden family, and are threatening impeachment if the documents are not provided. An impeachment inquiry appears to be likely after McCarthy told Fox News this weekend it’s a “natural step forward.
Greene said the member holding back the impeachment inquiry is not McCarthy, rather “some of these few remaining Republicans that maybe won a Biden district,” but believes the GOP “conference is coming together and we should be voting on this in September."
