The possibility of a new ice rink in a southwestern Adelaide suburb has sparked excitement from both locals and council.

"This is going to be insanely popular, if we can get this over the line, get it built, this is going to be huge.
The new rink could open the possibility for international and national ice sports tournaments in Marion.
