About a week after the lawsuit was filed, two private attorneys from an Indianapolis law firm appeared in court on behalf of Mears’ office. Then the Indiana Attorney General’s Office asked the court to strike them from the lawsuit. . Rokita, on the other hand, is staunchly anti-abortion and has defended the state’s abortion restrictions in court even before the U.S. Supreme Court unraveled the seminal abortion case Roe v. Wade.
