COLUMBUS, Ohio —Because the area is in the path of totality, thousands are expected to travel to the area to see the eclipse in person. Marion County Sheriff Matt Bayles said they anticipate the county population to potentially triple for the event.
"People are renting out their homes and rooms for people coming from out of town," Marion resident Becky Gore said."We expect anywhere from a 50- 60% increase in business," Ray Macklin said about the OK Café in Marion. "That is a great thing. A lot of people have never been here before, so this is their first experience. In Marion, we believe your first experience will be your best experience.
