“I think this brought attention to racist comments and the use of the n-word around campus and online,” said Raven, a resident of the Homestead Valley community. “We feel there hasn’t really been discipline or punishment enacted for people who do this,” he said. “I feel like a lot of kids see these comments as a joke.”
Angela Carter, an education specialist at Tamalpais High School and the Black Student Union adviser, said there were concerns that the administration had been aware of the video within the last month before the foment of student action last week to plan for the protest.Cupertino, Sunnyvale schools educate families on Fentanyl dangers
The school maintains a racial equity policy that “aims to confront, actively address, and eliminate the institutional, systemic, and structural racism that harms students and staff and results in the predictability of outcomes correlated with race and ethnicity.”
