The Marikina City Police Station (CPS), headed by Chief-of-Police Col. Earl Castillo, was declared the champion of the Eastern Police District (EPD)’s first Project ESTOMO competition held on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the San Juan Gymnasium in San Juan City.

Earl Castillo, was declared the champion of the Eastern Police District ’s first Project ESTOMO competition held on Thursday, Nov. 17, at the San Juan Gymnasium in San Juan City.Project ESTOMO stands for “Extraordinary Self-defense Armed and Unarmed Tactics for Police Officers to Manage Peace and Order in the Community” and was named after National Capital Region Police Office Acting Regional Director Brig. Gen. Jonnel Estomo.

The performances included the “exhibition of martial arts and other combat skills, as well the presentation of actual police response to specific scenarios and cases.”Pasig CPS, led by Col. Celerino Sacro, won the first runner-up spot with 85.05 points. Aside from the PaMaMariSan police stations, the EPD’s District Mobile Force Battalion and District Headquarters Team also competed in the event.
