Marcus Crosswoods Cinema in Columbus is set to introduce the area's first 270-degree panoramic movie experience with the launch of SCREENX technology on April 30 . This innovative cinema experience will debut just in time for the release of Marvel's new anti-hero movie, " Thunderbolts .
" "Moviegoing has never been more exciting," said Mark Gramz, president of Marcus Theatres. "Not only are there a wide array of fantastic films coming to the big screen this summer, moviegoers in Columbus will now be among the very first to experience a totally new way to enjoy these great films.", developed by CJ 4DPLEX, is the world's first multi-projection cinema technology. It extends select movie scenes onto the left and right walls of the auditorium, creating an immersive viewing experience that cannot be replicated at home. To celebrate the Columbus launch, Marcus Crosswoods Cinema will host an invitation-only SCREENX presentation and screening of "Thunderbolts" for members of the Marcus Magical Movie Rewards program and special guests on April 30 at 7 p.m. The event will feature a reception with themed photo opportunities and hors d'oeuvres starting at 5:30 p.m. Public showings will commence on May 1. Movie titles, ticket prices, and showtimes for other SCREENX showings can be found on the Marcus Theatres website.
