Second baseman Marcus Semien will not start for the Rangers on Wednesday vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks, and will snap a 349 games played streak in the process. Semien — who has been playing “banged up” since a collision with right fielder Adolis Garcia earlier this month — hadn’t previously sat since May 12, 2022. That was the only game he’s missed since he signed with the Rangers that previous winter.
“I’d say was mutual,” Bochy said. “Now, we’ve had conversations the last two, three days ... but he agrees, it’s time to take a day.”
